Book Review : The Burn Journals

A powerful story of a teen age boy that tries to commit suicide by dousing his robe with gasoline and setting it on fire. He talks in detail about the pain, regrets, hospital procedures, counseling.
He also talks about his life, the difficulties he faces when he is confronted with the public, his friends, his family life and about his sessions with the counselors that try to help him with his feelings and his suicide attempt and his irritations and frustrations. A very open and honest book.
Despite the seriousness of the subject, he adds in some humor which makes this an interesting read . Just a warning , there are many references to sex and profanity, not for young kids.

I highly recommend it.

This book sounds interesting and good. The description reminds me of the books by Beatrice Sparks: It Happened to Nancy and also Go Ask Alice.

I saw a man pour gas on himself at a gas station and light himself on fire. It was awful.

I have an award for you HERE

True stories are so often way scarier than fiction.

Thanks everyone.
It was a great read, very interesting that after it happened and he healed, he could not remember why he did it and was very sorry that he tried to kill himself. He was very brave to write this memoir.

And Vicki i'm coming over to see this award! Thanks so much :0)
