Teaser Tuesday

My teaser this week comes from the book The Secret Keeper by Paul Harris

Page 36: "She was an aid worker, killed by ex-RUF a week or so ago. That hardly seems a country at peace, General."

The Secret Keeper
One man's search for the truth in war-torn Sierra Leone, where the rules of civilized society don't apply...
The Secret Keeper: A NovelJournalist Danny Kellerman receives an urgent letter from an ex-lover in Sierra Leone, where he once was a war correspondent. But it's already too late; she's been murdered in a roadside robbery. Danny returns to Freetown, where his investigation uncovers secrets that shed a shocking light on the woman he though he knew-and reveals a hidden truth that could destroy those in power. Trapped in the heart of a dangerous nation where he can trust no one, Danny is soon forced to choose between his integrity and the devastating consequences of speaking the truth.
Written with gritty and haunting realism and based on the author's first-hand experiences as a war correspondent in Africa, The Secret Keeper is a taut and powerful debut that reader's won't want to miss.

Teaser Tuesday is hosted by Should Be Reading and this is what she has to say about it:

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
